A federal judge in South Florida has ordered that Dimitri Albert Edouard Vorbe cannot be transferred or removed from the Krome North Service Processing Center while his immigration case remains pending.
The ruling follows an emergency motion filed by Vorbe’s legal team after concerns were raised about a possible transfer. Following a July 8 status conference, U.S. District Judge Darrin P. Gayles issued an order prohibiting ICE and its agents from moving Vorbe to another detention facility or removing him from the United States until further order of the court.
⚖️ What does this mean?
- Vorbe remains at Krome for now.
- The order does not decide the merits of his immigration case.
- It ensures the federal court maintains jurisdiction while his habeas corpus petition is still under review.
The case continues, with additional court proceedings expected in the coming weeks.
