🎤 MISTY JEAN built an entire album around the art of the duet. “Les Duos” features 12 tracks, 12 different partners — Tanya St Val, Thierry Cham, Eddy François & Shaba, Alaye, Shino, Oswald, Patrick Handal, Kaysha, Pierre Huberson, Herly Jacques, Fredy, and Ivan Jay. No other female voice in Haitian music has covered that much collaborative ground on one record.
🎤 BEDJINE took the opposite approach and went all-in with one partner. “Misyon Akonpli,” her joint project with K-Dilak, is a full 16-track album built as a true duo record — “Lackey Granmoun,” “Konsekans,” “Woulib,” “Commando,” and more, front to back.
Two different philosophies. Two of the deepest duet catalogs in HMI history. Same result: nobody does collaboration like these two.
