The 2024 collaboration album is led by “Konsekans” at 24 million plays, and four songs account for most of its audience.

Two years after its release, K-Dilak and Bedjine’s Misyon Akonpli (“Mission Accomplished”) is a long, ambitious project that has found a large audience. The 16-song album runs 1 hour and 10 minutes. On YouTube Music, the track counts add up to roughly 55 million plays. That total is my addition of the rounded figures shown in the platform’s tracklist.

The milestones

  • “Konsekans” leads with 24 million plays. The 4:50 track by K-Dilak and Bedjine is the album’s biggest song and accounts for about 43% of the album’s total plays.
  • “M’ap ret ak tet mwen” reaches 14 million. The Bedjine solo cut (4:20) is the second-biggest track.
  • “Ou Gou” and “Prefere” each pass 4.8 million. “Ou Gou” has 5.2 million plays and “Prefere,” the album’s longest song at 5:02, has 4.8 million.
  • Seven more tracks have passed 600,000 plays. “Dènye konba” (1.1M), “Diffamation” (1.2M), “Commando” (1M), “Tounen Lakay mwen” (803K), “Met Rido” (646K) and “Fanm 30en” (617K) sit behind the leaders. Every one of the 16 songs has passed 270,000 plays.
  • The top four tracks make up about 86% of the plays. “Konsekans,” “M’ap ret ak tet mwen,” “Ou Gou” and “Prefere” together total about 48 million of the 55.6 million.

The legacy angle: a duo album built to last

Misyon Akonpli is a full-length duo project, not a collection of singles. The two artists share the spotlight across 16 songs, with Bedjine carrying three solo tracks (“M’ap ret ak tet mwen,” “Like you do” and “Keep it Hard”) and the rest credited to both, on the Spotify listing. The album’s long running time and steady play counts, with no track under 270,000 plays, suggest listeners kept going deep into the tracklist and did not stop at the hits.

The titles also show an artistic range. Kreyòl titles such as “Lakay Granmoun gen lòd,” “Konsekans” and “Tounen Lakay mwen” sit next to French and English ones: “Diffamation,” “Tremblement de coeur,” “Commando,” “Like you do” and “Keep it Hard.” That mix of languages reflects how many Haitian listeners, at home and in the diaspora, actually speak and listen.

Two years on, the album’s success rests on a handful of songs that became signature records for both artists, with “Konsekans” and “M’ap ret ak tet mwen” as the clearest examples.
